SiC1, also known as Reaction Bonded Silicon Carbide, is an economical ceramic material widely used in mechanical seals. It features good wear resistance and moderate corrosion resistance, suitable for clean water, sewage and general working conditions. Due to residual free silicon, its chemical stability is limited in strong corrosive media. It is the most cost‑effective choice for basic sealing applications.
Application Conditions:
- Clean water, wastewater, and general industrial liquids
- Neutral or weakly corrosive media
- Low to moderate pressure and speed
- No strong acid, strong alkali or harsh chemical environment
- Standard working conditions with low cost requirements
Not suitable for: strong corrosion, high temperature, high speed, abrasive particles.
